Flavour: Kokako Review
This month our food guru decided to check out Kokako located in Grey Lynn, check out her review.
This trendy café is pro-organic, which means they serve only organic coffee/tea and use organic ingredients in their food offerings where possible.
I ordered the poached free range organic eggs which were served with caramelised onions and 5-grain bread (instead of the brioche). The caramelised onions which came with my poached egg were so sweet and delicious. I thought the onions were a very unique addition to your normal poached eggs on toast. I may have to try this at home!
My friend Aimee ordered the baked free range organic eggs served with black beans, chilli, coriander, organic kumara with house-made corn bread. She said it was absolutely delicious – it must have been, because I never got a look in!
My favourite pick from the menu.....
The range of tea’s which were served in little vintage tea cups – a great touch, just they way they should be served!
Come here with.....
A friend or family member that could do with some variety on their plate at breakfast/lunch. I promise they will not be disappointed!
I will be going back especially for.....
Aimee and I loved the look of the Congee (rice porridge) served with organic bananas, coconut milk and cinnamon. Their smoothies sound great as well!
I highly recommend that you check out Kokako in Grey Lynn, 537 Great North Road. I will be back next weekend with my family to show them all what a great café it is!
