Kimberley's Blog: Fun in LA on Halloween

Just a quick blog to tell you about Halloween!

To be honest, Halloween is more like a month of celebrations and festivities than it is a day of dress up at home. I feel like ever since I landed here in LA, the city has been covered in decorations and everything to eat seems to be "pumpkin spiced" - I love it!

Last night wrapped up the scary season with a massive parade on Santa Monica Boulevard. They closed off over a mile of the main strip to cars and basically people just flock there in full dress up. There was live bands, catwalks, street performers, food and people like me who wanted to stop every person I walked past to have a photo.

After already wearing my Frog Princess costume last week I felt like I needed something else - I found a monarch butterfly costume online and thought it was a little different… And I love butterflies. Ryan, my roommate ordered an inflatable horse costume. He had a few issues keeping it inflated which provided much entertainment. Celine went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and was approached numerous times by Lions.

The best costumes in my opinion where the really scary ones. I found one guy who was walking around with chains hanging off him, covered in blood and who was lunging at people - he was kind enough to have a photo with me - I was a little nervous about asking though.

Happy Halloween team!

Kimberley xx
