Flavour: Miss Melicious Cupcakes

At one of K Road's hippest little eateries, Hard Luck Cafe, Missy Fleming AKA Miss Melicious launched her cookbook in grand style. We were all invited to take a trip down the rabbit hole to the wonderland of “Miss Melicious Cupcakes”. More party than book launch, the fun event featured circus performers, balloon artistes, beautiful burlesque ladies serving up tasty hors d’ouevres, slushy machines and, of course, towering displays of cupcakes.

The book itself is a perfectly pink confection with a candy-striped cover that alludes to the delights within. Missy hints at her adorable rockabilly-meets-pinup pop culture style with recipes for tantalising cupcakes inventively named with monikers like Fat Elvis and Hello Kitty. With such a wide variety of flavours, there is sure to be a sugary treat to tickle anyone's sweet tooth.

Miss Melicious was initially started as a small store and cafe in West Auckland suburb Te Atatu Peninsula and with the launch of her first book, inspirational Missy is set for New Zealand cupcake domination. The beautiful book is available at Whitcoulls, The Warehouse and other book retailers nationwide and with Christmas really not that far away, it would make a perfect gift for the budding baker in your life!
