Fashion: Suitcase Essentials
Travelling in general requires excellent packing skills, especially when you have weight limits, size restraints and space issues that force you to re-think taking that extra pair of heels or the 10 pairs of togs you think you need.
Here is your must-have list of things to pack, whether you are travelling within New Zealand or abroad.
Underwear
Enough for each day plus a few extras
Socks
Only a few pairs Dresses: Take one, two max, for those unplanned nights out Jeans: Depending on your time spent away, take two pairs of jeans. Jeans are made to last up to a week without being washed (crazy huh!)
Tops
One dressy to go with jeans, the rest should be casual enough to get you through the day and appropriate for a variety of occasions.
Swimwear
One pair
Jackets
One if it is going to be cold Jumpers: Depending where you are going, you should only need a couple. Jumpers are like jeans and can last days without needing a wash.
Pyjamas
Take a pair of PJs that will be right for all seasons
Shoes
The biggest space taker....one pair of heels, one pair of boots/jandals depending on destination, two pairs of flats/slip-ons/canvas shoes for everyday wear.
Cosmetics
You don’t need all your make up, soaps, lotions etc. Take the make up you wear everyday plus a small case of eye shadow for when you go out at night. Take your facial lotions in a smaller container – just enough to last you the time spent away. These containers are available from supermarkets, pharmacies and convenient stores. Also any medication that is needed, toothpaste/toothbrush, shampoo in a small container again.
And thats it! Take a book, MP3 player, diary and other things like that in your hand luggage or backpack.
Are you going away? What are your packing tips!
