Fashion Friday: Trends for 2012

Happy New Year everybody! What better way to celebrate than shopping at all the amazing New Year sales for all the New Year trends. We have your 2012 outlook on trends that are going to be so hot and also what you should be chucking out.

Gotta Have It

Plaid

Plaid

It is making yet another comeback; replacing 2011’s animal print trend and pleasing Scottish fashionista’s everywhere.

Equestrian

Equestrian

Knee high socks with tall boots, textured leggings, structured blazers and slick ponytails. Gallop after this trend for sure (see what I did there) because this has to be one of our faves.

Peter Pan Collars

Peter Pan Collars

Technically this is a 2011 trend but it is set to really explode in 2012. These gorgeous collars are popping up on all kinds of clothing whether it be tees, singlets, dresses or jerseys.

Classic

Classic Style

Bring back the working-girl chic look, jeans and a nice top, and flattering dresses that show off your gorgeous bods. You will see what this is replacing in our ‘gotta go’ section!

Gotta Go

Prints on Prints

Prints on Prints

Not really know how this was a trend in the first place but polka dots and stripes or floral and stripes –  any pattern with another pattern is just a recipe for disaster. Time to get back to the classics!

Oversized

Oversized

As comfy as this trend is, wearing clothes 4x your size is unflattering and often makes you look like you are wearing a sack. Time to fit to your body!

Crop Tops

Crop Tops

Just as it did in the 90’s, crop tops are on their way out which is over summer but something that has to be done. Sometimes too much skin leaves little for the imagination. Chuck a singlet or maxi under that crop.

#2annegaudenzi18/02/201200:57I don't really like Prints on Prints. Not really know how this was a trend in the first place but polka dots and stripes or floral and stripes – any pattern with another pattern is just a recipe for disaster... Definitely agree on this.
