Please tell your mum - us mums need to know stuff like this so we can help you with what you need and also becuase if your mum thinks you havent got your period yet she may be concerned something is wrong. My just turned 10yr old is showing signs of getting hers early so she has a wee book and pads and tampons all ready just in case. Some girls do get it early - it's just the way it is - so many things factor in it's hard to explain why - talk to your mum and just tell her you have it but you are really worried about telling her - she should understand - take care :-)

I can relate too you. I got mine when I was 11 and told my mum about 1 and a half years later :( I just went in to her room one day when dad wasn't around
and said mummy a have my period she just gave me a BIG hug and told me it would be ok, then she started telling me about when she frist got hers it made me feel amazingly good and I am sad I didn't go to her from the start.
Hope you tell your mum coz you can't keep useing folded up toilet paper! I agree with rubytuesdaynz, your mum may worry that you haven't got it coz mine did she said too me that day gosh I am glad you've got it I was starting too worry. I was lucky that I had two older sisters that had periods so I used there pads. one of my older sisters got her at age 10 so I think thats just life you got yours at age 9.

girls get their periods earlier and earlier now...some girls in my brothers primary school got it as well. It's important to talk to your parents about that - at least your mums. It's nothing to be ashamed of, girls. Every girl gets it...sooner or later. :)

I does not matter if you get your period early. think about the fact that when you get your nperiod you are becoming more mature so in a way you have become more of a woman

yeah, you should tell your mum. it doesnt matter
if you get it early. my friend said that her little
cousin got it when she was 7 ! all people are differnt.i got mines when i was 10. and i have told
my mum.you should also tell your mum because if you use toilet paper it will leak through and also at night you need night time pads.if you tell your mum you dont have to use toilet paper, and pads are better :)
