Blog Central: I have just turned 19!

My week has been a combination of stressful and relaxing - strange, I know!
February the 1st was my 19th birthday, but it was also the deadline for my application to study in France later this year. So I switched between feeling chilled out to stressing about last-minute photocopying and paperwork! But the application is all handed in now and I feel a huge wave of relief.
It feels like my birthday has been going on all week! On Monday I decided to have a cruisy day, crashing out in front of DVDs with my best girlfriends and eating my mum's AMAZING double chocolate birthday cake. We went to Wagamama's that night for dinner, which was delicious. I felt a little sick from all the treats but hey, that's what birthday's are for right? Then Tuesday the girls and I went for dessert at a cute little French Creperie in the city called La Torchon. It's delicious, affordable and SO authentic. The waiters all speak in delightful French accents - can't wait to move to France where everyone talks like that!! Then on Thursday I was lucky enough to be taken out to lunch by the staff here at KC.com. So good to see everyone and catch up over yummy Thai at Sawadee in Ponsonby. I think the celebrations and meals out have finally finished... I love it when birthday's last for more than a day!
Another exciting thing I did recently was head up to Mangawhai for a few days for another friends birthday. We went out on her boat. It's a well known fact amongst my friends that I am terrified of sea-biscuiting - I squeal like a little girl and fall off within thirty seconds! However everyone pressured me into giving it another go so I made it my mission not to fall off. I held on SO tight that my muscles were burning the next day! But I stayed on and actually enjoyed myself. That said, I still screamed the whole way around... and laughed so hard I cried. Nothing like a bit of dramatics.
Anyway, time for me to get some sleep! I just watched NZ's Top Baker and got such food-envy of all the yummy desserts that I whipped up a 5-minute brownie in the microwave. Delish recipe. Check it out here.
