Beauty Blog: All About Nails

Every girl suffers ‘nail-envy’ at some point in her life. You know, the moment when you see another girl’s long, perfectly manicured/painted/shaped nails and you wish that they were yours!
But I’ve realised that if that girl can have them, then so can you! Follow these tips and you will be well on your way to having perfect nails.
Keeping them Healthy
The healthier your nails are, the better they are going to look. To keep them strong, smooth and the tips white, make sure you groom them often and that you definitely don’t bite them! This means trimming, filing and moisturising. I love Neutrogena’s Hand Cream – not only does is soften your hands but it strengthens your nails as well.
Keeping them Pretty
The best trick for keeping your nails pretty is finding a great, long-lasting nail-polish. Cheap nail polish (think $2 Shop cheap) will chip within hours, leaving your nails looking messy. I love Maybelline’s range – especially their fast-dry colours. They are available at Farmers stores and aren’t too pricey.
Keeping them Long
This is probably the hardest thing to do, especially if you wash dishes or work with your hands a lot. The best advice I can give you is to moisturise your nails a lot so that they are thick and strong, and to trim them so that they grow healthier. But remember, you can still have gorgeous nails without length!
Treat Yourself
For the best nail advice, I would get a manicure & pedicure done professionally. Not only will they leave your nails immaculately groomed, but the nail technician will also be able to tell you what else you can do for fab nails.
Hot nail colours right now
Bold colours like red and black are very in, but so are feminine girlie colours like baby pinks and light purples. I tend to wear subtle colours such as coral, white & light gold for everyday things, like going to uni, but wear bolder colours like bright blue for going out or special occasions. But at the end of the day, it’s up to you – find a colour that you LOVE and you will feel a million dollars.
Happy nail painting everyone!
